In Simetrik these transformations are applied on a column and not on a cell, and they use a language very similar to that of formulas, allowing familiar functional users to create data transformations easily.
The system will save these transformations automatically. In this way, the next time you enter data to the source, the previously configured transformations will be executed on the new data.
Step 1 - Create transformation column Go to the source table on which you want to create the transformation column and click on Add Column and then on Transform Column.
Step 2 - Select and type formula A space for typing the formula you want to apply will be enabled in the top bar, above the column names. You can see it as follows:
Click on the fx icon to display all available formulas, or find examples of how to apply them in the following section Types of transformations.
Error in formula
While typing the formula different error messages will appear. These messages will guide you to identify if there is an error in the formula. Also, when typing the formula, you will see a message with the parameters that you must consider.
Note: To apply a transformation on a column, create the transformation and click on the column you want to transform, the system will automatically add it to the transformation bar.
PRO TIP Formulas can be combined with each other, i.e. different formulas can be concatenated in the same formula. You will be able to view the complete formula each time you place the mouse over the corresponding column, but you will not be able to modify them after they have been created.
In the following link you will find the formulas enabled for you to create your transformations; click HERE.
To edit the transformation columns you can be redirected to the following section where you can find the details of how to do it and for which occasions this functionality is enabled:
