Configure crossover
Step 1. Once the process of preparing the sources is finished, click on the "Configure Crossover" button.
Step 2. In the Crossover Configuration screen you will be able to create the crossover keys you consider necessary by selecting from the drop-down list or by dragging the columns that will be compared between the two sources.
You can create as many crossover keys as you need and these will be stored in the Reconciliation Sweeps which will be explained later.
Step 3. To determine the crossover keys, select from the drop-down list or drag the column for source A to the Reconciliation Rules section and repeat the process with the column for source B. Additionally, you will be able to choose different comparison criteria such as "equal", "greater than", "less than", among others. You can also add a Tolerance to your rules, in case they require it.
Example Tolerance. In case you have a crossover key that is Dates and you know that the records can arrive at the bank with up to 2 days of difference, you can add a Tolerance of 2 days so that Simetrik seeks to reconcile those records with dates 2 days before or after the date registered in the system.
Step 4. To add a new crossing key, click on the button (image) on the upper right side.
In case you have a crossover key where the formats of the selected columns do not match, the following error will appear (as shown in the image). To correct the problem, you can check the format type of the columns in the symbol that appears to the right of the selected columns. In case you have a different formatting type, you can click on the formatting type and cascade the columns.
Step 5. Once you have created the crossover keys, they will be saved as a Reconciliation Sweep and will be used as a method to achieve the highest expected reconciliation levels automatically. This functionality allows the user to use different logic or crossover keys.
Step 6 (Optional). On the upper left side, you will be able to view the Reconciliation Sweeps you have created in the "Sweeps" section. To add a new Reconciliation Sweep, click on the button (image) at the top right side of the "Sweeps" section or you can simply duplicate the previous sweep by clicking on it as shown in the following image:
A reconciliation sweep is composed of one or more crossover keys and is used to achieve the highest levels of reconciliation. A second reconciliation sweep or as many sweeps as required are used to try to reconcile what was not reconciled in the immediately preceding sweep.
Example Reconciliation sweeps: In case you have a first sweep where you have the ID, amount and date crossover keys and you know that some records may have different dates because they were recorded on a different day at the bank, etc. you can create a second reconciliation sweep where Simetrik will seek to reconcile the records that did not reconcile through the first sweep using the new ID and amount crossover keys only.
Tip
The order of the Reconciliation Keys does not matter, as they must all be met for the records to reconcile, while the order of the Reconciliation Sweeps does matter, because each sweep uses the unreconciled items from the previous sweep.
Step 6. Once you have finished configuring the crossover, click on the Next button to go check your results.
You have successfully configured the crossover! 🚀
